this weekend's project

we've secured a sure-fire christmas gift for the niece and nephew this year: a puppet stage! now all we have to do is make the puppets -- homemade ones are sooo much better and we can control just how freaky they are. that is, we can make some really crazy creatures that will inspire actual creative play far beyond the proscribed story lines of dora the explorer, sponge bobby, and the other highly marketed, nickelodeon copyrighted characters.
