things we hate

• feeling bad because our cats live indoors
• worrying about ghetto fences falling down
  
• saying we'll do our schoolwork -- and then not doing it
• dreams about Mesa where Mesa is still dead, dammit
  
• being cranky for no discernible reason
• forgetting (again) to smoke more pot
• forgetting (again) to do more yoga
• losing patience with the patient ones
• feeling overwhelmed at work and lost at play
• headaches, cold feet, windy saturdays, and not enough coffee
  

we have met the general ...

... and she is his, which is a very good thing.

our boyfriend's mama is sweeter and lighter than we anticipated. the boot-shaking was for naught. and word is, she seems to like us too... she even slept under a few of our antique quilts, imbuing them with a fresh supply of precious maternal energy.

strictly speaking, the meeting of new folks is not a problem for us. in fact, it's part of the job, and happens every day. but for some reason, this one was a little different...
